Mother Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide Attempt by Son

A woman was found dead of blunt force trauma and her son was found injured with self inflicted injuries in what police believe was a failed murder-suicide. The body of an elderly woman was found brutally beaten in her home around 10:15 a.m. today in the 6300 block of Gotham Street in Bell Gardens, said sheriff's Deputy Lilliam Peck.
