Butter knife assault lands former Augusta woman in jail
A woman charged with elevated aggravated assault in the stabbing of her boyfriend - apparently with a butter knife - Dec. 20 in their Gage Street apartment, pleaded guilty earlier this week to a lesser charge of assault with a dangerous weapon was placed on deferred disposition for 18 months.
A Belgrade woman and an Augusta man are among four people facing drug charges after police reportedly found dozens of bags of heroin during a traffic stop on Interstate 95. The driver, Jalee Soucie, 21, of Belgrade, and a passenger, 22-year-old Eric Lee, of Augusta, were arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs.
