By Chris Hunter Last Updated: September 03, 2009 The Wichita school district took a large step toward constructing two new public schools in Bel Aire this week when the city council approved a deal for USD 259 to purchase property in the city.

The Wichita Public Schools recently celebrated the completion of its first bond projects with the $370 million bond issue with the "touch the turf" events at Heights, Northwest and South High Schools.

The Bel Aire City Council has agreed in principle to sell Wichita Public Schools 140 acres for two new schools that are being funded by the $370 million bond voters approved last fall.
