Doug Elder made a trip across Shelbyville Road from his home in Beechwood Village recently to Ochsner's Garage to have his stepson's Honda Civic checked out.

Paul Rice walked along Fox Run Road in Beechwood Village recently, surveying torn-up streets and dug-up yards - the result of a $6.5million Metropolitan Sewer District project that began last spring in the city off Shelbyville Road.

After surveying the densely wooded section of St. Matthews Community Center Park off Shelbyville Road, naturalist Alan Nations said it would take the rest of the fall and winter to rid it of invasive bushes and vines.
