Bedford and Garfield Heights robberies under investigation by FBI
The Cleveland division of the FBI is investigating armed robberies in Bedford and Garfield Heights carried out by a man and a teenage boy. Police said two have been charged in connection with an aggravated robbery at a Garfield Heights Ohio Savings Bank at the 6000 block of Turney Road.

Armed men steal cash from Bedford convenience store
A store employee at the Deli 4 Less in the 600 block of Northfield Road said two men stole $2,730 from the cash register and a woman's purse and cell phone. The Bedford Police Department responded to the call, and Walton Hills Police Department and Oakwood Village Police Department were called to assist in the investigation.

Ex-official gets time in law firm kickback case
A former law director and prosecutor for the city of Bedford, Ohio, was sentenced to six months Wednesday after taking a plea to a lesser charge in a bribery case that involved, among other issues, a $9,500 law firm kickback for bond work. Kenneth Schuman, who is 42 or 43, was sentenced on Wednesday to six months.

Judge sentences former Bedford law director to probation for two years
Former Bedford Law Director Kenneth Schuman, who accepted $9,500 from a law firm that had a contract with the city, was sentenced Wednesday to probation for two years, with the first six months in jail.
