The winter weather is to blame for a deadly accident in Ness County. The accident happened 9 miles north of Ness City on Road 220 yesterday.

A number of factors -- not the least of which was the weather -- combined to make this year's Christmas holiday uncommonly deadly.

Icy roads were blamed for a one-vehicle crash that claimed the life of an 18-year-old man early Sunday in Ness County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
