Coover grants aimed to fight rural poverty to be awarded Tuesday

At 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Louis and Dorothy Coover Regional Grantmaking Program, a partnership between Community Foundation of the Ozarks and Commerce Trust Company, will award $109,475 in grants to eight agencies serving the Missouri Ozarks, according to a news release.

A fire damaged an unoccupied mobile home today in a mobile home lot. Acting battalion chief David Minnehan, of the Springfield Fire Department, said the fire damaged one unit in a lot full of used mobile homes at 3220 Sunshine Street.
