Commission OKs mayors' SLIB choices
“Those two applications will most likely move forward to the state for consideration out of more than $30 million in emergency funds”
The mayors of the nine incorporated towns in Big Horn County met Thursday in Lovell to review 36 project applications for $2.9 million in County-wide Consensus Block Grant money handed down by the state to be divvied up for this fiscal year.
Nine capital improvement projects totalling $2,530,063 were recommended for funding by the mayors, with another six projects submitted by special tax districts recommended for funding to the tune of $334,441.
The Lovell Canal District was recommended to receive $41,790 in grant funds for upgrades; North Big Horn Hospital $121,519 for a call system; County Weed and Pest District $21,000 for Americans with Disabilities Act improvements; Basin Recreation District $81,000 to repair the town swimming pool; Burlington Cemetery $53,200 for upgrades; and Big Horn County Fire District No. 4 $15,932 for generator housing.
