A motorist was robbed at knifepoint and struck in the head shortly after midnight Monday morning on Interstate 80 East between the Tannersville and Bartonsville exits, state police said.

The second of five defendants charged with aiding a prostitution ring that operated out of massage parlors in Lackawanna and several other nearby counties was sentenced Tuesday in federal court to two years' probation.

A passing motorist found Linda Serrano, 46, of East Stroudsburg, at 11:58 p.m. Saturday on the Interstate 80 westbound shoulder, near the overpass leading from Route 611 in Bartonsville to Route 33 South.
