Let Quabbin hire her back as their Super, and north middlesex can begin a search for a new part time Super.

clearly, the school committee as well as everyone else has already determined this should only be a part time position.

They have filled many adminsitrative positions at high salaries to actually do the work, so why not save the money and bring back the teachers permanently

We have built a very strong team culture in this district that transcends the traditional demarcation of roles," Brown said

You have a school committee with a majority of members with less than 2 years experience.

You have principal and vice principal at Spaulding with less than 1 year experience in the District. The handling of the 1st grade teacher last month was criminal.

You have a principal and vice-principal at Hawthorne Brook with less than 1 year experience in the District.

You have a principal and headmaster at the high school with less than one year experience in the District.

The principal at NMS ( 15 + years in the District) expressed mild reservation about the plan stating it would only work for one year.( He also knows that he serves at the whim of the superintendent)
The principal of PFS/VBES was never quoted.

It is an inexperienced team culture that doesn't know how to transcend the traditional demarcation of roles ( Whatever that is supposed to mean)
In short , they are good people but untested in their new roles.

You have 3 former members ( Joe S. Fred W. Dennis M) and one current member ( Anne B.) with over 30 years combined experience who are opposed to this idea.

This benefits Quabbin and certain top administrators at NMRSD.
Good plans for the District should last for more than one year.

Given how poorly our full time superintendent handled the ice-storm/snow day emergency and long term shutdown last winter, how well will she do as a part time superintendent if another emergency occurs this year, say a swine flu epidemic hits our district in October or worst hits Quabbin school district?

We need a competent superintendent entirely committed and focused to the needs of our school district, North Middlesex Regional. No distractions, no job hunting elsewhere, no drama.

There are other members who have serious reservations to this plan. Please show up at the Monday meeting to express your concern. The full committee needs to continue to hear the opposition.

Pauline Cormier (PFS) was also in support of the plan.

If we can have her part-time for a year, do we really need to pay a full-time superintendent at all?

The School Committee apparently feels it's a part-time job, so it's a valid question, why have they been paying for a full time Super all these years when it was not necessary

FINALLY! At last a member of this committee who listens to the people she serves instead of the person she hired!Dr Marshall said last night that this was "...a business deal with an exit strategy..." When it started she implied we were just ahead of the state mandating us doing it. Sometimes we're splitting her salary and sometimes we're billing for services. No contract like this has ever been drawn between two districts but we've got a subcommittee doing so without a lawyer (unless the committee took another one of their magical votes)And, in the meantime they refuse to answer three important yet simple questions...

1. WHO from NM started this process,WHEN, and by WHO'S AUTHORITY?

2. How does $95,000 add up to THREE teachers?

3. How does rehiring THREE teachers (if that is the number) translate into reducing class sizes throughout the entire district as has been implied by the subcommittee, the superintendent and her free range principals?

Most importantly don't forget MCAS results under this "administration"!!! This is the only indicator available that isn't filtered by the central office or the state teachers' union.
