Barnegat man gets new trial on series of cocaine charges

A panel of appellate judges Thursday ordered a new trial for a 41-year-old Barnegat man because, it said, he was convicted of drug offenses after a trial judge gave impermissibly coercive instructions to a jury to continue its deliberations despite it twice reporting it was deadlocked.
