McDonald wins House seat that represents islands

McDonald defeated Republican Philip Brady Jr. for House District 134 which had been held for eight years by Rep. Walter Kumiega, D-Deer Isle, who was barred by the state's term limits law from seeking a fifth two-year term. McDonald was born in Bar Harbor, later moved to Blue Hill and graduated from George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill.
