Full story: Inland Valley Daily Bulletin

A "PUBLIC salon" on the topic of the Inland Empire's economic bust is set for today in downtown L.A., which is the sort of place you might expect to host a public salon, but not the sort of place you'd expect a discussion of Rancho Cucamonga and Banning.

I am really upset about your "comedown dept" David. Honestly, it's comments like these that create the image that the Inland Empire has no class and little or no culture. I am on the committee for the Upland Music and Arts Festival and we really tried to make this a very classy a-one event. Come and check it out!

Dave count me in as finding the "Comedown" bit a little inappropriate. Heck, even Winona Ryder's not Winona Ryder;

A friend's band opened for S.A.@ Wolf & Rismiller's Country Club at the kick-off of "And The Horse They Rode In On" tour, I met them backstage they were very cool, downhome Midwestern types who played a very strong live act-even though that tour was cut short by Dave Pirner's tinnitus. To still play after the death of a founding member should be commended, not ripped on. And those who attended James Brown's Bonelli Park show said he gave a great concert-I'm sure it was a bigger crowd than at Ontario's Royal Tahitian Club;

The fact that Soul Asylum isnt lighting up the marquees of somewhere more familiar say the troubadour and has to settle for a show in your typical Inland Empire burb has to be a shot to the ego.
