'New York' sailor embraces mission

Thomas Casey, 19, is tomorrow's veteran. Grown in the shadows of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, he joined the military to respond to his generation's Pearl Harbor and "do something productive." Casey was a fifth-grade student from Troy in June 2001 when he visited the World Trade Center site in Manhattan with his elementary school class.
