I do not agree with Captain Aviv Bar's premise that "If you don't leave valuables in plain view inside your vehicle, you could prevent a crime in the city." I disagree as this could lead to a slippery slope premise where the victim of the crime is to blame because, "if the victim just did not leave their home that day they could have prevented a crime in the city." In the Whittier Municiple Code there are laws against solicitors and loiters in parking lots. Municiple codes are rarely enforced by the police. Yet, this enforcement would prevent crimes of theft,property destruction, robberies and assaults.

You're looking at 2002 stats and calling people idiots? Maybe you haven't noticed but most of the violent crimes being committed in socal are by mexicans and blacks - no stats are needed to back that up.
