Senators vow to fund troopers in schools
“I think most people would agree with that. What we can do is try to backfill what they had been doing in the schools, which was not by and large a law-enforcement function.”
Republicans in the state Senate pledged to fight Gov. Eliot Spitzer's proposal to remove state police from school districts in suburban and rural areas and put police in high-crime areas. via Star-Gazette.COM
