AC does not want me and my family anymore. First Half the casinos say they will go Smoke Free, That counts me out.. then they say they are going after the Young High Rollers. Counts me out again. There are Lots of other places to go that want me and my family.. BYE AC..

Many,Many people feel the same way you do.Revenue Down Double-Digits in 5 Casinos. All the rest Down the last 12 out of 13 Months. They chased ALL their customers out trying to recoup some of their profits.GREEDY.People Finally wised up.Pa. took them over!!! |

Serves them right. My last trip there was early last year. Won't be back anytime soon. Tight machines, terrible comps, and bad service. Seems like everyone has an attitude there anymore. We used to go there 3-4 times a year. Now we fly to Vegas instead.

Lucky,We use to go to A/C 40-50 times a year.No more after the way they Chased their Loyal customers out starting about two years ago. After they started losing to the Pa. Casinos, they tryed to get their money back by Shafting the people, didn't work. The place is Dead.Revenues WAY Down again.GREAT !!! |

Its not the casinos that banned smoking, its the state of New Jersey. |

I just checked Pa gaming commission's website... if PA's casinos are doing so great, why is Mount Airy's revenues down bigtime again this week?? |

We're just the opposite. We never used to go to AC. Now, I've been down 5 or 6 times in less than a year. We're going again on Sunday.
One thing buried in a lot of those revenue reports is that slot revenue was down (makes sense with PA slot parlors) but table revenue was relatively stable or up at many AC casinos. AC needs to start catering more to the table players since the slot parlors can't offer those games. AC needs to play to it's strengths and unique features that the other places can't compete with. One thing I'd like to see is more accurate recording of play for comp points. Because it is done manually, it isn't as accurate as when a slot machine does it automatically. That said, I wish we could go down Saturday instead of Sunday because on Saturday they are paying 7x reward points for your play (Caesars). It would be nice to play for just a couple of hours and earn a few free meals. Oh well, they are giving out $5,000 prizes every 15 minutes on Sunday so maybe we'll get lucky. |

Its only a matter of time until PA legalizes tables. Until PA bans smoking, I think they will always have an advantage over A.C. during the fall & winter months. In my opinion, what the state of NJ needs to do now is... (1) Reject Corzine's toll-hike plan (2) Open slot parlors in northern and central NJ to divert some of New Yorkers & northern New Jerseyians who are giving their money to slot parlors in PA (give exclusive rights to A.C. casinos owners to set up slots) (3) Spend more money in getting rid of the hood-rats in A.C.(send those people back to Philly & Camden) (4) Continue to push for legalized sports betting. There's really nothing new or exciting happening in A.C. at the moment that would attract people. But, the future looks bright with the coming of new megaresorts and nongaming attractions which promise to rejuvinate the city once again in the same way that the Borgata did in 2003. A.C. needs to realize it can no longer depend on its gaming to attract tourists. Gaming is available in most states now. |

How long has it been open??? a couple of months. As the new kid in town I would expect when it first opened people would be knocking their door down. I was there last week and the crowd was about the same as any other times. also could be a couple of BIG winners knocked down there revenues. and a couple of ICY days did not help, we changed our plans twice because of the weather. ALSO The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has upheld the temporary suspension of Louis DeNaples’ slots license and directed that a trustee be appointed to oversee operations at his Mount Airy Casino Resort. People reading this may think it will not be open. But it is..... |

Are you old enough to remember the PlayBOY club in Vernon NJ. I worked on it when it was being built in the 1970's. the state was still talking were they were going to permit Casinos. The playboy club built that building with casinos in mind, Much MORE Power and AC than they needed all over the building. It is sitting there now rotting away and almost vacant. That would be a GREAT place for a casino, right on the NY border and not far from PA.. Only problem is NO highway. |
I agree. I heard an estimate that sports betting last year in NJ totaled $800 million, and who knows how much higher it truly was. That's a huge chunk of business that is going on unregulated and untaxed. Pull that business into the casinos. It would clean up the business and help boost AC's business. |

Its too bad Pennsylvanians don't have an alternative for the rest of the Jersey Shore communities (O.C. and Cape May) so that I can find a parking spot in the summer time.

Since the smoking ban we cut out AC trips to 3-4 a year (used to be once or twice a month). Cheap comps, tight machines, lousy rooms, etc., the list goes on and on. We now frequent Mt Airy, close, good food, smoking allowed. Apparently the anti smokers that said business would increase were off base.

It's ALL yours----never liked beaches, sand, tacky overpriced gee-gaw junk stores etc. There were only 2 reasons to go to Jersey----the AC casinos & visiting my son, DIL and grandchildren. For now, there is only 1 reason; visiting our son & family (no longer go to AC). Hopefully in the near future, there will be ZERO reasons to cross the bridge (goodbye EASY PASS) as their home is up for sale (some offers they are considering). They are done w/the expense of living in NJ. LOL, both of them were born & raised in PA; chose to buy a house in NJ despite the warnings from 2 sets of parents. Guess it shows that us older & wiser folks do know best. |
Right on "PaGambler".PA. is where its Happening.A/C screwed too many customers too many times!!! |

As husband & I are both Diamond Players (continue to be w/Harrahs Chester) we stopped our play after March 07.
No how no way as people who smoke, will stand still, spend money, & be confined to a 25% area. The freebie comp rooms + comped foods are coming in every week via e-mail, snail mail, or by phone. The NJ & AC politicians did this----the casinos didn't want this ban, but it happened. Quite frankly,as a Total Rewards Harrahs player, husband & I really enjoyed the comped 2 nt stay that included weekends that we NO LONGER book. An AC stay b/c of their dictorial smoke bans make this place where I don't want to spend my money. AC is no longer fun!!!! |
What kind of offers are you getting from Chester? Are they doing anything special other than using your points at their restaurants? I know they had a Sha-na-na concert a while ago. Were you offered free tickets? |
|
Its what you make of it. If you can't have fun without smoking than you must have one serious addiction. |
|
PA is where its happening? Yeah right... you guys don't have anything that any other state already has. I will admit though, FILTHYDELPHIA can be fun (if you don't mind taking a risk of getting shot or tripping over a homeless person). You guys are like the last to get slot machines. Your the last with everything. A bunch of followers. |

YEA you are right again PA is the last (behind NJ) in everything. Last in Highest taxes. Last in worst roads, Last in Corupt politicians, Last in Clean air. NJ cities are so much better than PA's YEA like Camden, Newark, Jersey City, Paterson. The Garden State, you better be Guardin you wallet in NJ. |
