St. Luke's estate gift
The St. Luke's Hospital Foundation has received a $3.6 million estate gift that will go toward research at St. Luke's Cancer Institute.
Caroline Millard, spokeswoman for St. Luke's Hospital Foundation, said the bequest came from the estate of Dorothea and Presley W. Pitts, who lived in Liberty for many years before moving to Florida in 1978.
Millard said the bequest was the largest estate gift ever designated for the cancer institute.
