Good Connections: Keeler Women's Center helps in many ways
“But everyone who leaves here has a smile on their face.”
Delfina Segura was getting groceries at a food pantry two years ago when she grabbed a Keeler Women's Center flier, hoping for help in rebuilding her life after an abusive relationship.
Since that time, the 42-year-old Kansas City Kansan has gone to the center for empowerment classes, financial counseling and budgeting classes, and grief counseling to heal from the recent deaths of her mother, father and brother.
And on Friday she got a spa treatment.
Segura's holistic experience is exactly what the center is about, said its director, Sister Carol Ann Petersen. Read more
