An Astor man died early Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash on State Road 44 in rural east Lake County , the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A brush fire near Pierson in Volusia County has forced the evacuation of some residents.

Dr. Chet Anthony's patients don't typically include livestock, but last fall the family physician made an exception for a donkey named Jeremiah.

"We wanted to let residents and business owners know that when they see the hauler come to their location with a different name on the truck, that they will be provided the same services, the company just simply has a different name." said Skip McCall, Lake County's Solid Waste Services Manager.
