Alleged dog shooter says it was self defense

have you noticed that a person is in more trouble for shooting some mangy cur that needed it than he would be if he had murdered a person. do you see something wrong with this picture? blame p.e.t.a. and a.s.p.c.a. among others.

Why not just blame "we the people"?

The dog may have been one of those constant barking nuisances and the guy got fed up with it. Hard to claim 'self-defense'. It was in its own yard right?
The lesson here is that if you do not control your animals someone will do it for you. Barking dogs are more than just bothersome, they can effect your mental health ie: Drive you bonkers and loss of sleep. Respect your neighbors-control your animals.

LibStomper, re-read the article, the "PIT BULL" was in the neighbors yard, that the neighbors 4 year old "CHILD" had regular access to.

Blame animal control! We have city, state and federal laws requiring owners to keep their pets contained. Animal control is so fat and lazy they dont uphold the laws.

We had an incident some years ago where a vicious dog kept getting after all the children on our block. Everyone on the street was afraid of this animal, the mailman stopped delivering mail on our entire block. We all called animal control, but they refused to uphold the laws, I even video taped the animal and was told it didnt matter they have to see the animal off it's property themselves. When the dog attacked my children on our front porch and we had to beat him off the porch with a rake I finally contacted the police department and told the chief if they dont do something about this dog I would shoot him on our front porch and they could come clean it up. Of course he informed me that i would go to jail, I told him it was better than having a funeral for one of my children. A short time later the police showed up and talked to the owners, the owners put the dog in their car and we never saw the vicious mongrel again.

Why in the he-ll did you let it go one for so long? A meatball with the right chemical in it would have stopped that in it tracks.

And let's put the blame in the right place. The courts who let dirtbags run over the rest of society because it is more profitable for the shysters who defend them.

Only a coward like you would put a chemicals in something a dog would eat...Its people like you that deserve the shotgun blast, By the way i have 3 pitbulls and i wouldnt have any problem putting a couple of holes in you to defend my dogs..Thats real talk

OK as-shole, first off, you can't even understand my post. If MY fuc-king pitbull, which I myself own 2, was attacking kids I would be the first to put it down. The second point is if YOUR dog was attacking my kids and this sh-it went on for weeks,while you sat in your domestic squalor killing your brain cells with booze ignoring the problem, first I would kill your dog and then put a few 12 gauge slugs in you after you sobered up enough to stagger out of your shack and come at me. How CRUEL and NASTY can you be to harm an animal in that way...Do you even know the pain that they suffer after being poisoned try slow and painful.... What a heartache for people who have had this done to their beloved pets...A person like you would NOT only stop at loud dogs but would hurt a child for making noise as well.. Now tell me would you put poison in a child's candy as well.... SHAME on you....To even think an evil thing like that.... How many helpless dogs or other animals have you KILLED ???

2E, I gave you more credit than being as ignorant as that douchebag. The point I was trying to make is that crap went on for weeks unabtaed. People like the owner of that dog are the useless flotsam of society that make life miserable for those of us who have well behaved pit bulldogs. I certainly would not tolerate even for an hour if my dogs became aggrressive to kids or adults even. I don't believe for a minute that you would not resort to harsh measures to protect your kids, I'm assuming you have kids right? You would be the first to whack any dog or human, for that matter that threatened your kids lives. It is completely insane to go firing a gun in a neighborhood like that moron did. All I was suggesting is another less ,stupid, way to deal with it since apparently NO one esle cared to, including the LEO. I don't condone poisoning dogs, I find that cowardly and inhumane, but my point was taken wrong, which is understandable given the low IQ of the indigenous population of these boards. I could have worded that differently, but I didn't, get over it.I can't dumb it down without sounding like AK-47 Culos. And that dic-khead should not be threatening people. Take a deep breath. Stop. The issue is not loud dogs. It is about vicious dogs and the indifferent small penised men who own them.

you are not the only one that has a gun or a concealed carry permit. hell bouth me and my wife have them. so what else is new today. but to say you kill the dog and then the owner.

It shouldnt have to come down to that...I love animals as much as anyone else...BUT...if an animal comes at a child it should be put down right there and then. If one of my dogs did that i would be happy that the neighbor put it down. How would you feel as the owner of that animal if the child got hurt and they didn't put it down the first time and it did worst damage on a different event after you knew he had the potential to harm an innocent child?
