Miracle Miles for Kids Races to Aid Children
The Family Care Network’s 5th annual Miracle Miles for Kids Walk/Run brought together more than 1,500 racers to benefit local foster and high needs kids and families on Saturday.
All age divisions, male and female competitors, barefoot racers and intense athletes came together for the 10K race that ran along 6.2 miles of the Central Coast beachfront on May 10.
Competitors left Morro Rock at 8:30 a.m. and raced to the finish line located at Cayucos Pier. Just minutes after the half an hour mark, the competitors were crossing the finish line and were greeted by family, friends and fellow competitors cheering them on.
With a time of 32 minutes and eight seconds, Keith Jankins, 25, was the first to race across the finish line. Coming in as the fastest female competitor, Kristin Stevens raced the 10K in 41 minutes and eight seconds.
The race was followed by a post-race party, complete with lunch, live music, vendors, activities for kids and the awards ceremony.
To join the fun filled racing event and give something back to your local community register for next year’s race at www.fcni.org or www.mm4k.com.
