YEAH, YEAH, YEAH,

Finally some sense to this whole year of castrophies.

Argyle really is, or was, a good place to live and a good place to attend school until we got all these people moving in and wanting to change it to something other than a small community with friendly people and good students.

Knowledgeable Texas teachers know not to work in Argyle ISD. The parents of Argyle, in general, are unsupportive, unappreciative, and unable to be satisified. Consequently, the only teachers that remain in Argyle ISD are ones that can not find jobs elsewhere. I give their next superintendant one to two years before the Argyle residents rejoice in tossing him out.

Hopefully things will return to norman now and we can go ahead and win another Lone Star Cup! Do you think the puritans will except the good Dr. now that we've thrown him out?

Argyle Observer, your ignorant statements are false. Argyle parents strive for excellence in everything. They give of their time and resources in every area. The ongoing public debates demonstrate Argyle's passionate, parental involvement. A teacher without devotion or merit will inevitably gain negative attention in Argyle. A more accurate statement would be, "Lazy and apathetic teachers know not to work in Argyle ISD." The teachers with staying power in Argyle have earned the respect and support of the students, faculty, and parents in the district and have received state recognition and achievement awards. If an educator comes to Argyle prepared and motivated, they have nothing to fear and much to gain. The district, while far from perfect, remains strong with high standard and goals.

So, now that Dr. Ceyanes is gone, what does that mean as far as the new intermediate opening for next school year? Is it going to happen?

Dr. Ceyanes wasn't doing everything in the district himself you know. He had a staff. More than likely, the district will bring in a well-seasoned/veteran interim superintendent. There are some of them around that just fill in until such time as a new superintendent can be hired. They are sometimes "retired." Argyle has used this method in the past with success.

If the new 5th/6th grade campus could be finished with Ceyanes at the helm, it can be finished without him there, too. The district will be fine and so will our students.

So Agyle Observer once again mis-information. Argyle has many teachers that have been with the AISD for at least 10 years if not more. There are a couple that went to school in Argyle and are now teachers. One of the Kindergarten teachers taught both of my kids and also taught both of my grandkids. I would highly suggest that you get your facts straight as Argyle has and is able to retain teachers for many, many years!!!! If this doesn't show that teacher love our school then I don't know what would

So what would you bet that the intermediate is going to be ready by next year? I have a child that will be in there and she's is very excited and relieved that she won't have to go over to the "big" middle/high school just yet. Now I'm hearing that may not happen? Should I burst her bubble yet? or wait?

Perspective,

Thank you from our hearts for standing up for us. As I drag myself home after no sleep last night thinking about how I want my students to do their best on TAKS today, taking care of my own family, I walked to my computer exhausted and read the hurtful words that someone said about me as a teacher.

You stood up for us and we are all so grateful. We give our hearts to these students.

Thank you "Perspective" We all appreciate you!

On the evening of TAKS that was a hard entry to read. So hurtful.

Yeah for all the teachers at Argyle. I have had a student there since kindergarten and I could probably count on 2 fingers the only teachers that I would not recommend for my kids. At the elementary level we had nothing but wonderful experiences with every teacher my child had. As we got into middle school, it was the same thing.
As we got more into high school, there were other issues. However, I have never had a teacher or principal that didn't want to work things out or that wouldn't work with me on a situation.

These wonderful people are not paid enough and as far as this whole mess, I think they were all afraid to comment on anything for fear of losing their jobs.

Hats off to all the Argyle teachers. You have made my child a better person.

You are just anygry because the school board did the right thing and got rid of a cancer at our school. This has and never has had anything to do with our teachers. I also disagree that the parents are not supportive or appreciative. They just don't support the things that have gone on this past year with our superintendent. The only thing the school board did wrong was not listening to the public when they tried to get them not to hire Ceyanes; but they fixed that at the last meeting.
After this whole year, I don't see how anyone could support Ceyanes. Even if the dancing or the dress code did not affect you, then started the gifted/talentend program, then the reports that were not done, and it went on from there. How can any of this be blamed on the teachers or the parents? That is just ridiculous to even say that. You need to apologize to every one of our teachers and be thankful they are there for your child. I have seen many school districts where all the want is a paycheck. And believe me, that is not the situation in Argyle.
My next door neighbor is a teacher and has been for 20 years. She was going to take a pay cut just so she could teach at Argyle. To me, that says something for this district.

The simple fact remains that Argyle ISD has a horrible reputation among Texas teachers. I was not the one that created the reputation; the parents of Argyle created it.

To Argyle Observer,

Please explain more in detail what you mean by your comment that Argyle ISD has a horrible reputation among Texas Teachers.

I wish that I could categorize the schools because all of my children went to elementary, I could not say anything better about those teachers.

Middle School, I started to become a bit disheartened.

High School, All 4 of my kids are miserable.

Is this what you mean?

most of the elementary teachers at argyle (i'm sure the middle & high school too I just haven't experienced that yet) are very dedicated teachers!!! Sometimes more dedicated teachers than moms! Let's quit getting off on a tangent and get back to the original topic.....Dr. Ceyanes. By the way, I've now heard two different things....is he gone for good or not?

Ceyanes has 15 days to appeal his proposed termination to the TEA (Texas Education Agency) and if he does, a hearing willl occur (I'm not sure when) to determine if the board had legitimate grounds to terminate. If the TEA hearing upholds the board's proposed termination, Ceyanes could then appeal the TEA's decision to the State Commissioner of Education for a final ruling.

While all of this is happening, he is on paid administrative leave and the district will operate in limbo for several months.

I agree with you. I have so much Argyle Pride it is ridiculous but I don't like what I have seen lately. Hopefully now we can get back on track and get a superintendent who doesn't come in acting like he has been handed a mess when he has actually been handed one of the best districts around. Just look at our kids. We excel in academics and sports. Mostly we have great kids in Argyle and I would just like to see someone take control who understands this.

I beg to differ with you. Argyle has good teachers. This is not a corrupt district and so we need to be sure the next superintendent realizes he is not being handed a so called mess to fix. This district is not perfect but we have great programs both in academics and sports. If you are so upset with Argyle then maybe you should consider another place for yourself.

After reading all the posts and replying to several. I can agree with most of the posts. Argyle was here prior to the current superintendent and doing well. We will continue to do well. I am a student and sub teacher. I have actually turned down jobs in other districts to remain within Argyle. Upon finishing my certification I want to work no where other than Argyle. I will not accept a job in another district.
As for the new school, Im quite sure it will still be ready.
Thankfully Argyle is a strong district. My child starts school next year and I look forward to the day she graduates from Argyle High School.
As for the Observer like I mentioned before if you don't like the way things are here then just get out. Find a district you are happier with.

1. I am not angry. I am simply a casual observer.
2. I do not attend the district nor do I have any children who do. I also do not work for the district. True to the reputation of Argyle parents, most of you made a baseless assumption, followed it with a snap judgment, and then asked for me to leave the district. If that sounds familiar, it's because that is what you have done with many of your superintendents and teachers.
3. Further evidence of baseless assumptions and snap judgments can be found in the fact that many of you believe that the process is over and Ceyanes has been fired. That is simply not true.
4. If you want to know what's wrong with your district, then I suggest you try looking in the mirror.
