Arcadia Mounted Posse Lives Again
The 1970's was the last decade to see a Reserve Police Officer assigned to the Arcadia Police Mounted Enforcement Team (AMET), formerly known as the Mounted Posse. AMET has evolved over the years and is headed by a sworn member of the Department, Agent Bruce Smith. The unit has been primarily made up of volunteers. One volunteer, Lisa Hogue, took the initiative to attend the Rio Hondo Police Academy Reserve Police Officer Program. Lisa was sworn in as a Reserve Police Officer on October 13, 2008 during a ceremony at the Arcadia City Council Chambers. Reserve Officer Hogue will be assigned to AMET. Lisa brings two years experience as a volunteer in the program. Also pictured with Lisa is newly appointed Officer Joel Ibarra. Joel was a Reserve Police Officer for over 19 years prior to becoming a regular member of APD.
