It's a shame this article fails to detail that the Discovery Center Authority is okay with removing over 40 mature trees to make way for a project that is "absolutely critical" to "restoration". It doesn't sound like an environmentally friendly project to me! These agencies should be about restoring the natural area, not dropping a 18,000+ sq ft building and huge parking lot to boot! I support the Friends of the Whittier Narrows Natural Area...move this facility off the natural area and in a place where it can be considered environmentally friendly.
