The accident is still under investigation, but there's no evidence, I'm told, that it was anything other than an error by an inexperienced driver.

When a truck hits a motorcycle, the truck wins. The girl is only 17 years old and still experimenting with her driving. She should chalk this up as a learning experience.

Kill a biker , go to jail. Everytime. It's that simple. The car came across the road for a reason. Inexperience ? bad tires ? going too fast ? talking on the cell phone ? Jamming to the MP3 ? Even she knew it was wet out ?
Further if you want to live on your bike, when it gets wet, get off the road.
I've had 86 motorcycles, and they don't leave much room for manuvering in the rain. Nor are they that visible.
If everyone who KILLS A BIKER goes to jail, that will stop soon enough. GAURANTEED.
God bless all involved.

On brother ::rolling eyes big time::

That is one stupid comment.

If anything, it's the bikers fault for being on a death trap.

I agree...these dang bikers ride 2 inches from your bumper, pass in no passing lanes all while having the bumper stickers which proclaim you to "LOOK OUT for bikers"! Screw 'em, they should drive 5 times more careful than someone in a car, no special rules for bikers, learn to be more careful.

The teen in the truck was probably too inexperienced of a driver especially considering the road conditions. Was there malice and intent to harm? No. She will probably be charged with negligent, careless or reckless driving. Other charges may be pending if she was found to be on a cell phone or texting. I harbor no hate for those who chose to ride a motorcycle. I do know that to ride one invites more harm to the riders if they are in an accident as opposed to being in a vehicle that surround them. Still, I don't understand why people get so angry at those who are injured or killed in an accident when they are riding a bike. These folks are dead. They aren't asking for any sympathy. Their lives are gone. The teen who hit them must feel horrible. My daughter told me she wanted to get a motorcycle. I told her there was something I would do for her first before she got one. I took her to a local business that carves headstones. Told her I wanted her to tell me what she wanted it to read after she is killed on her motorcycle. She said "I'm a good driver (which she is) and I won't get killed". I told her she has no control over the other drivers on the road and the odds are stacked against her. She thought about and told me she'd changed her mind. She'll stick with the old Ford pickup she drives. I told her I'd help her pay for the a/c to be repaired. Sometimes a parent just needs to be creative to get the point across. Sympathy for all involved in this tragedy.

Personally, I know Wendy's daughter and have seen what a tragic impact this has on her. Instead of blaming it on different people, we should be remembering them and keeping the girls (teenagers) in our thoughts.

If you want to kill someone in America, just use a car. So long as you are not drinking, you'll get off scott free. That's pretty fair , right ?
Oh, excuse me , It was an "accident"

My parents know the two people killed. Their motorcycle was a Honda Goldwing. You can't miss those on the road. It's one of the biggest bikes out there. Second, the couples 17 year old daughter was driving in the car behind them along with a younger sibling. The driver of the motorcycle had a thousand hours in safety driving training. Yes, the roads were wet, but it was not raining at the time of the accident. The truck that hit them lost control, spun around and hit them. The truck was going in the opposite direction. The motorcycle was not inches from anyones bumper. Let's all think about the children of the parents and the fact that they watched their parents get killed. Yes, the 17 year old driver who hit them may be inexperienced, but don't say "chalk it up to a learning experience". If she would have hit another car and that driver was killed, would you be making the same comment? If you notice, the motorcycles that drive crazy are the young kids on small fast bikes. This was not the case. These were experienced riders heading down the road going home from lunch when an oncoming truck lost control and hit them. Let us think about their children and that they have to live the rest of their lives with the image of their parents being hit by a car.

Wow, are you kidding? All of you are inhumanly uncaring, these were two every loved people with families and 3 daughters! It wasn't like they were on a crotch rocket doing 150, they were coming home from a charity motorcycle ride. You all should think about the reality and details that you obviously don't know.
