What no tickets, no charges? what the hell is going on !!! Why hasn't this person been locked up for this? Are we going to blame this on bike week!! Does Florida not have any traffic laws any more and no one to enforce them,or just because they were motorcycles its ok!!!!!!!!!!

No matter how safe you are on a motorcycle it takes one mistake by an auto driver to kill you. No bike for me.

As a Harley rider myself, I would like to tell EVERYONE else to please, please watch out for us on the roads.
You may not realize it but when you change lanes in front of a motorcycle, just because the front of your vehicle 'clears' the bikes, the rear of your vehicle may not. The end results: the rear of your vehicle clips the motorcycle.
People who don't ride motorcycles many times, see a bike as being smaller than it actually is. Many times, non-riders don't see the bike at all. There is a 'blind spot' in many vehicles and when you pass a motorcycle, you have to be CERTAIN that you have given yourself PLENTY OF ROOM for clearance.
Remember, just because a motorcycle is smaller than your car or truck, it doesn't mean that you can take the extra space of lane the bike isn't using. That fourteen feet of lane that bike is using BELONGS to THE BIKE and is NOT for anyone else!
There are many more bikes on the road now than ever before so folks, PLEASE PLEASE watch out for us!!!!!
Thank you.

You are absolutely correct. An object laying on the road, a pot hole, gravel, sand, you name it, can easily cause a bike to crash. Most crashes are caused by OTHER DRIVERS.
One little 'tap' from a truck or car on a motorcycle will spin the bike out of control and more than likely kill the rider.

I agree as well. I am thankful my teenagers never became interested in motorcycles.

Ride 'em if you want, but there is no denying you are risking your life a lot more than if you are in a car. It doesn't matter if someone else was at fault; you are just as dead.

Why do cars/trucks always try to cut off a motorcycle in traffic?, This time it killed someone, Charges will be pending, Drivers Pay attention, car or motorcycle, Stop trying to beat everything in front of you to the light, Goldenrod is known for the types of drivers that used that road. Red light runners, people pulling out in front of you all the time, racing, u turns, etc... Make your calls before you get in to go. What is so important that YOU have to call someone as soon as you start the car? Heck, stay home for a change, instead of driving around to nowhere!

Many of us are now riding to work because gas is so high; and it is your job to be "extra careful" around anyone you are next to on the highway. And yes, we do run the risk of something being in the road, but we shouldn't have to run the risk of idiots like you whether we are on bikes or in cars. As for a selfish hobbie, what are we to do? Stay home and watch t.v.? Or should we go fishing and take the chance of a stingray jumping out of the water and killing us? Oh, wait, we can play golf, and run the risk of getting hit by a golfball....

I would think if you violate the bikers right of way and you killed him (which is what you acknowledge here), that if you were any kind of person you would accept it's your job to be "extra" careful. By failing to take that care, you are responsible for the death and you should go to jail.

One thing is for sure --- you are an idiot!

Your right, but something needs to be said.
Some bikers especially Harley riders like to ride up into the blind spots on cars and trucks and then just cruse there.
I've seen too many bikers do this and then when the car or truck change lanes the biker almost get hit.
Of course the biker gets mad, but hey they put themselves there.
How could I know this? I also rode.
It always amazes me even though almost %100 of bikers also drive 4 wheelers that they fail to take that into consideration when doing so.
I'm not saying this is what happened here. It's something that needs to be said.

"Motorcycles
The 4,810 motorcyclist fatalities in 2006 accounted for 11 percent of all traffic
fatalities for the year. An additional 88,000 motorcycle riders were injured.
Per vehicle mile traveled in 2006, motorcyclists were 35 times more likely than
passenger car occupants to die in a motor vehicle traffic crash and 8 times more
likely to be injured.

Summary
In 2006, 42,642 people lost their lives in motor vehicle crashes — a decrease of 2
percent from 2005 (43,510).
The fatality rate per 100 million VMT in 2006 was 1.41. The injury rate per 100
million VMT in 2006 was 85. The fatality rate per 100,000 population was 14.24
in 2006, a decrease of 3 percent from the 2005 rate of 14.67.
An average of 117 people died each day in motor vehicle crashes in 2006 — one
every 12 minutes.

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASHES ARE THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH FOR EVERY AGE FROM 2 THROUGH 34."

Yes, statistically it is more dangerous to ride a motorcycle but the stats for cars aren't that much better. It's a blood bath on our roadways whether you are walking, riding a bike, driving a car or motorcycle.

Because of either inattentive, impaired, tired, careless, aggressive, distracted, or speeding drivers all of us put our lives on the line when we travel.

My condolences to the victim's family.

It seems many people forget they are standing on the shoulders of millions of Americans before them who sacrificed for this country. I however, am very much aware that my freedom and opportunities exist only because men and women before me were brave enough to risk themselves for this country.
Thank you for your service.
