Sarasota Bay grants awarded
Sarasota Bay Estuary Program announced a number of community grants Thursday to help restore the bay, install bay-friendly landscaping and help improve the bay's overall quality:
Mote Marine Laboratory, for its partnership with the YMCA's after-school care program to provide hands-on, discovery-based, marine science activities to second through fourth graders.
Village at Beekman Place, for installing native aquatic plants in an area pond to improve the quality and reduce the quantity of storm water runoff from the neighborhood. Read more
