Jehovah's Witnesses show teamwork

Dust has settled and worshippers have moved in to a brand-new Kingdom Hall for Jehovah's Witnesses in Odessa, just one mile northwest of Ratliff Stadium.

Not strange at all its because thousands are climing up to Jehovah's mountain and a KH can only hold a certain amount of people so we need more room for the new sheep.

Do you think Armageddon will be here within the next 3 days? Good. Time to build one more hall then ;-)

LOL...why not, since you'll be door-knocking, and trying to give away free WTS bible studies throughout the 1000 years.

Surely your jehovah god is capable of pinpoint accuracy, and won't destroy kingdom halls where 2nd chance salvation exams will be given!

Btw, with 6 million unpaid laborers, why can't the WTS build a kingdom hall in 1 day?

I just attended one of the conventions and what a refreshing 3 days it was. There were no fights, drinking yelling screaming or any kind of sadness. A large crowd totaly under control with families sitting togeather, men were holding their babies and walking their children. Teenagers were respectful aswell as holding their fathers hand during prayer. With all the wonderful information being given regarding how we can have a happy life if we just apply what is given in the bible for each of us. The Bible is a guide to life and anyone not reading it has a good reason to be discouraged. Please reconsider what Jehovah's Witnesses have to say next time they come to your door. We all need something good in these scary days we are living in, and only good news is what the Witnesse's have to say.

And I've been to IT conventions where there were no fights or drinking or yelling or screaming, and the information given out there was actually interesting and not a rehash of something we had heard 4 million times.

It was an eye-opener, since JWs claim that THEIR conventions are so much "different" from any worldly event.

Are they going to teach their dead loved ones? All those that refused to open the door?
Are they held bloodguilty if they don't make sure their parents and other relatives hear the kingdom message?

The vast majority of Jehovah's Witnesses have no desire to or intention of going to heaven.

What they say (being a JW for 30yrs) is what the majority comes from the publications as to how to treat people. The conventions gives their conduct in full bloom as well as their dress code. All is in good taste- until they find out the subliminial images that are hidden in the pictures that are planted to make them that way. All that you see at the conventions is the best of what we see as good, BUT what are they REALLY like when they get home? Even the convention is all clean and tidy, but what of their homes- I personally have seen some unkept homes during that 30yrs! They may be convincing with their kindness at the doors, but it is up to each one of us to see what they say is the truth or not. If the scriptures say that Saten can transform himself into an "angel of light", how more so with each one of us!

You still don't get it do you? You have failed to recognize that someone is trying to rob you of the prize from God. Why have you allowed the Watchtower to change your mind about this:

Matthew 11:12 But from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of the HEAVENS is the goal toward which men press, and those pressing forward are seizing it.

1 Cor.15:50 However, this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s kingdom.

Matt. 22:30 for in the resurrection neither do men marry nor are women given in marriage, but are as angels in heaven.

3 In answer Jesus said to him:“Most truly I say to you, Unless anyone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

“Most truly I say to you, Unless anyone is born from water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

7 Do not marvel because I told you, YOU people must be born again.

“O faithless and twisted generation, how long must I continue with YOU? How long must I put up with YOU?

JWs love to put so much emphasis on outward appearance. No fights, no screaming or yelling. Everyone under control. You could notice the same qualities from a herd of cattle. And just about as much depth.

What you *don't* see is what some of these "controlled" children might be feeling on the inside: broken, defeated, on auto pilot. No child wants to spend hours sitting listening to adult-oriented, mind-numbing sermons. I've been to countless assemblies, and I cannot recall a single notable, unique thing said at any one of them. They are run together. The same "this old system of thing is soon to end," followed by a round of applause.

I recall when I was a teenager, the JWs were known to behave so badly at a few of the hotels that the place where the assembly was held disallowed JWs to have any more conventions there. Apparently the JWs were loud, noisy, sloppy, and kept other people at the hotel up at night by being loud and obnoxious out by the swimming pools.

The JWs were very embarrassed that they couldn't hold their conventions in this one place any longer. Apparently, their self-proclaimed "good behavior" didn't persuade everyone that they were good short-term tenants.

You only have two places to go after death. You will have eternal life either in heaven or in an eternal place of torment where you will be fully aware of what is gong on. It is up to you, choose Christ and receive eternal life, reject the Cross and believe JW teachings and receive eteranl punishment. Once you die it will be to late to change your mind. It's just that simple.

That happened alot in the city of Fresno when the conventions were there. Right across the street was a huge hotel that catered to the JW's every year. Then one year they were not on the list of hotels. The reason was that the teenagers the year before had been throwing water bsalloons and useing the elevators as their Disneyland type ride for hours on end. They had so many complaints the JW's were banned. Then they built a huge convention center here in Bakersfield and we no longer had to go out of town.
Kids are kids and when you get a large group of them together like that and their parents not paying attention, something is going to happen. It doesn't matter what religion they are.

I have never been able to reconcile an eternal torment other than the death itself and being forever alienated from God and his Son.
Once you are dead, you are dead. If you do not recieve a ressurection you are still dead. Why bring you back to torment you? That just is a foriegn concept to me and I have not seen it supported in the Bible. I guess it boils down to what you believe about Hell.

Well, I don't know of too many people who take their kids/teens to attend an adult-oriented conventions, so it is not surprising to me that such kids would let off steam after sitting all day at a boring convention. That's just common sense.

But it doesn't excuse their behavior, the parents' failure to supervise them, nor does it cut any slack for the hotel who has other patrons to protect.

I simply presented this scenario because of the heavy handed comment from a JW who said everyone looked happy, well-behaved, and loving at an assembly he/she attended.

Personally, having been around a lot of JWs and attending a lot of gatherings, I think all their repressive feelings and mind-numbing meetings they are forced to attend breeds a weird cut-loose near hysteria when they do have their get-togethers. Often they are loud, obnoxious, almost manic. I've rarely seen that same odd mania at "worldly" gatherings I've been to. And I'm not talking about drunken concerts. I'm talking about normal events.

Frankly I never felt I fit in with the JWs at their get togethers. I'll never forget one teen-aged/early 20s dinner I attended after an assembly. It seemed like most people were trying to compete as to the highest decible level they could achieve. The guys starting making jokes, and they ended up combining a bunch of (non-alcholic) drinks with the assorted spices on the table into a single glass. Then they added some paper, sugar packets, etc., and turned the glass completely over on the table without splilling any of its contents.

Apparently they didn't have the decency to leave a tip, either.

Before we left, the waitress came up and totally railed the group for the stupid upside-down glass caper. I felt totally embarrassed, since I hadn't participated at all, but was guilty by silence.

There are jerks and jerky teens to be found everywhere, no doubt. But JWs make so much out of their supposed "pristine" image, they pat themselves on the back so often, that they need to be brought down to earth now and then. I've rarely been embarrassed in any crowd since I've been out of the dubs.
