Perfect for what the city needs now. A smart, educated, seasoned politician with a strong financial background. An honest family man that understands the needs of an elderly mother, three teenage kids, and a middle age marrige.Sounds like he sees the needs of all walks of life.Good Luck Mr. Bianchi.

eiks, resurrecting two bad eras in Pittsfield's history, the Ann's administration with horrible cuts in protective services like fire stations closing, and Scapin and the infamous city council that was the laughing stock of the county, not sure that was a smart choice for references.

Thank you for putting this article on your website, Berkshire Eagle. I'm glad that more people will see the integrity and longtime commitment to public service that Dan Bianchi will bring to the corner office.

I continue to be confused why you (Berkshire Eagle) have avoided putting Jim Ruberto articles on your website. Last Sunday's article on J.R. was not posted here. Why is J.R. scared of the people of Pittsfield?

I agree with your questioning of the Eagles (non-posting of the Ruberto story),remember mr. Mick is a close friend of J.R. If the article had been printed i believe he feared a flood of negitive blogs. But then had it been run maybe, just, maybe some healthy eye-opening discusions would have been printed.Granted they are well known to the voters but 6 weeks is a very short time to question their views on the future of the city.

The Eagle again protects its candidate by putting that "insider" tag on this article for no reason.
Will never supprt Ruberto, voting for Bianchi.

This is why I won't vote for him. This is the type of job that has to come first not last.

With all due respect, ahem, I can see where you're coming from. I mean, who would vote for mayor, someone who is responsible, good character, a well rounded, dedicated family man who by the way has managed to hold down a full time job. Not to mention his job qualifications and commitment to this city is exactly what a mayoral resume should look like.

I see now that the Eagle has finally tucked in a link to last week's J.R. article at the bottom of this week's Bianchi article. Thank you for being responsive. Readers should be allowed to make good used of the forum to comment on all candidates.

you've come dangerously close to twisting the idea of being an involved dad into a negative, so i'll be reaching for the emergency break, because i'm pretty sure i'm not on the right train

If I may, please allow me to guess what Mayor James Ruberto would say about this article:

This is a good & interesting story about a good & interesting person.

And guess, what? I bet Dan Bianchi would have said the same thing about the recent Ruberto article.

Let's face it - we, the readers, want to know about these two accomplished people. "Thank you" to the Berkshire Eagle for taking the time to write columns about both candidates.

So out comes the populist side of Bianchi the candidate that will say ANYTHING to get elected.
He will cut taxes by cutting services...if Bianchi wins...expect a "reset" to the old days in Pittsfield...back to post GE no economy.

My guess is that Bianchi does not have a list of greedy friends just waiting for him to get elected so they can hold out their donation baskets. Ruberto raises the taxes on the average guy and then gives the money to his wealthy friends to build movie theaters and restaurants.

That is a given and history proves it. I'm gambling on Bianchi......he gets one term to prove he is not also a crook.

Are you talking about the same ruberto article I saw, the one where he shamelessly uses his wife's death to gain sympathy votes the same way he used her sickness todo so? Other media oulets said the mayor didn't know what was being printed. BS. I'm sure he saw an proof read the article before it was printed. Now the Eagle is Good and Just for printing articles on both candidates.Again, BS. People who are on the inside, such as Mr Harris, love this mayor because he caters to them, the "upper crust" of Pittsfield. I hope the mayor likes the weather in Florida in January.Did anyone else but me notice the next post after Mr Harris' had the same ISP, and tried to cut Dan up? Good try buddy.

Go Ruberto!! Keep this city moving forward, you are proving the naysayers wrong and the more threatened they are that the city is moving forward, the more negative they become!!

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Taurus

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get. Now, although it will be very tempting to let off steam by giving someone an earful, aren't there better directions in which to channel your energy?
