Yes, it was chilly Friday morning.

Much of the western Metroplex dipped into the mid-30s, and some areas got below freezing between 5 and 9 a.m.

While the official low temperature for the area was 42, recorded at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, the morning low in Alvord in Wise County was 30.

Other temperatures from Friday morning: Fort Worth Alliance Airport, 35; Fort Worth Meacham Airport, 39; and Arlington Municipal Airport, 37.

It will be warmer today, with morning lows in the low to mid-40s. Some low-lying areas could drop into the high 30s. Read more
