First of all its not called the Fannett Metal Township fire dept. It's and proper Fannett Metal Fire & EMS Dept. They also had assistance from members of the Franklin Fire COmpany of Chambersburg who happen to be in the area.

They don't have to identify what direction the vehicles were going - the stop sign is on 641. Good thing there weren't any buggies going thru the intersection when she blew through the stop sign - they would have been flying MORE folks out for sure!

There is no stop sign at this intersection, Look up P.O. You just might see a light!

There have been quite a few nasty accidents there. It should be made a 4-way light like at rt 30 and 75.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: the man who struck the girl was doing OVER 45 in a 45 zone where he was suppose to be yielding as it is ... also he had a REVOKED LICIENSE and NO insurance..

From the PennDOT Driver's Manual:

"A flashing yellow light means CAUTION. Slow down, look and proceed with care."

"A flashing red light has the same meaning as a STOP sign. You must come to a complete stop. Then, look
both ways, and proceed only after the intersection is clear"

The driver isn't required to yield, as you suggest.

good thing he learned the understanding of taking caution from that good old driver license test... OH wait he doesnt have a license!

the girl did in fact stop but a horse trailer parked parallel to her blinded her view and she moved up to see around it and the man with no license crashed into the driver side of the car when the girl did this.

In any any event, I hope your friend is okay... People do tend to fly through that intersection with little regard to speed.
