Missing elderly Alton man found safe in northern Illinois
An Alton man missing since Friday has been found safe.
Joseph F. Moonier, 81, was reported missing by his wife after he failed to show up for a 3:30 p.m. barber appointment in Godfrey.
Moonier was found by authorities early Sunday in his car at the side of a road in Grundy County in northern Illinois. Moonier was not injured, but had run out of gas and found himself stranded.
He was taken to a hospital in Grundy County for observation and released.
Madison County Sheriff's Capt. Brad Wells said Mooner was in good physical condition, with the exception of being hungry. Read more
