Funny - for all the closings they are doing, there are about 5 locations in Orlando that I know of that is building a Starbucks. I am sure they will continue to build those as they are in prime locations.

Those locations in the malls would provide a great chance for a new business owner wanting to cash in on the coffee biz... 3-4 stores for an independent would do well.

Another store lost in Oviedo mall.

Winter Park Zoo, oops, Village, nice store, but parking there is such a nightmare I won't go near the place unless it's a weeknight.

Though I know it's a really neat hot spot for the younger set, I personally have never care for their coffee! I was saddened when Barney's caved into Starbucks and sold the locations to them but I hear tha "Volcano" is supposed to be pretty awesome. I guess it's time to find out for myself!

If you keep selling coffee for $4-5 a cup you will be closing many more stores in the future. Sell your coffee for $1 a cup and you may not have to close any. Dunkin and others have much better coffe that costs less. Even some Jiffy Marts have better tasting coffee.

I've heard some good things about that Volcano joint too. Fortunately, I get free coffee at work. Here is a little hint on how to get free coffee. Pull into a hotel and go inside. Most of them have free coffee for their guests. No one ever checks, and sometimes you can get a free newspaper too.

And if you're really quick, you can get some soap and shampoo, maybe a towel or 2...

I don't know why they opened one in Poinciana. We would have benefited more from a Wendy's or McDonald's instead.

You need to try the Frapacino from Starbucks. It's a slurpee coffee drink. It was the only thing I could drink for two weeks when I had my tonsils removed. I can still taste blood in my mouth even now when I drink one. If you like coffee, Dunkin Donuts has excellent coffee for a fraction of the price, with a drive through. Also, believe it or not, McDonalds has excellent coffee. A tasty very large cup is only $1.75, just what you need to get your day going!

Guess people will have to start drinking regular coffee instead of the overrated custom made coffee.

Congratulations to the "winning" cities LOSING a Starbucks. The environment and the world are a "better" place by virtue of fewer Starbucks.

By the way, I think Starbucks coffee is just "ok," a bit "overpriced," and there is STILL too many stores (probably by a factor of "5").

Everyone needs to listern to the comedian Lewis Black's take on Starbucks. Essentially, he equates Starbucks across the street from Starbucks as a true sign of the end of the Universe and that only one group of people could use two of the same stores, across the street from one another; those suffering from alzheimers. He has it right, I believe.

I never liked their coffee anyway! Now if I had a buck I'd lease one of the locations and open a discount coffee shop. Call it Starluck Coffee and paint faded green and black to save a few customers.
