Members of the Missouri Renewable Fuels Association , an organization comprised of the state's six farmer-owned ethanol plants and the Missouri Corn Growers Association , have selected Ryland Utlaut of Alma, Mo., as the organization's 2009-10 president.

1, 1984 Formal graduation ceremonies were recently held for the six-member class from the School of Technology at Saint Francis Medical Center; members of the second graduating class from the school were Carol Almstedt, Lisa Scrivner, Terry Snider, Mitchell Kampert, Jane Hopkins and Jennifer Estes.

More than 250 people are expected to be in the area Aug. 2-4 to tour area farms and agribusinesses as part of the Young Farmers and Young Farm Wives Agriculture tour.

Charles H. Brune, 88, passed away Friday, July 10, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Rhonda Beerman of Marshall and Barbara Bryan of Alma will be sworn in as Court Appointed Special Advocates Tuesday, May 12, in a ceremony at the Saline County Courthouse, according to a CASA news release.
