County Commissioners Attempt to Settle Township Dispute
Wilmington Township Board Member J.D. Hill appeared before the county commissioners Monday morning with a beef that he wanted the commissioners to settle.
Hill explained to the commissioners that there is a road that lies on the boundary line between Wilmington and Mill Creek Townships that services one homeowner. Hill continued by saying it was his understanding that for years Wilmington Township maintained the road and was reimbursed for their services by Mill Creek Township. He added that he was led to believe that the road was under the jurisdiction of Mill Creek Township, but that his township provided the labor and gravel because it was "seven or eight miles away from the nearest road that Mill Creek Township maintained."
