8 Hurt in Fight at Federal Prison in Pa.

A fight broke out at a federal prison in central Pennsylvania on Monday, forcing a lockdown and sending eight inmates to the hospital.

No guards were hurt in the melee at Allenwood Federal Prison's medium-security facility, said Traci Billingsley, a spokeswoman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. She did not known the nature or extent of the inmates' injuries.

The fight started around 5:15 p.m. but was quickly brought under control, she said. The prison was locked down, she said.
