Born on March 6, 1917, in Clearfield County, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude Rehrer.

Noting that libraries serve as our nation's great equalizers of knowledge by providing free access to all, the Mifflin County Commissioners on Thursday adopted a proclamation recognizing April 14 through 20 as National Library Week and the month of April as National Library Month.

In the wake of a decision by the board of directors to close Allensville and Milroy branches of the Mifflin County Library, Executive Director Molly Kinney said the library is in a better financial state than it was at the beginning of 2013.
