If the scrap metal dealers don't start asking more questions and keeping better records they should be forced to close. Then the meth smokin thieves wouldn't have anywhere to take their loot. I sure hope they catch them. They're putting peoples lives in danger and they need to be stopped.

The 911 center don't use a cellphone. Their phones are hooked to a copper line. Besides, all cellphones have to go through a real telephone line at some point don't they. Isn't it called backhaul?

As Shot observed a cellphone is useless if the cable to the site is out. Some spurs are served by microwave but the main site they operate off of is serviced by phone line. I personally know of one company that had 3 sites down at one time because of this foolishness. Stop the thieves!!
