Temple City Jewish congregation marks 65 years

The San Gabriel Valley's first Reform Jewish congregation will celebrate its 65th anniversary Sunday with a dedication ceremony, a tree planting and a search for a time capsule buried years ago. Temple Beth David was first established in Alhambra in 1947 by a couple of families, where it remained for a number of years before moving to a San Gabriel church and then to its current location, which once hosted a chicken coop, on Longden Avenue.
