East Penn hopes to trim planned tax hike
Some East Penn School Board members say they're ready to take out the scissors and start snipping parts of the school district's proposed 2008-09 budget, which calls for the maximum tax increase allowed without a referendum and also proposes to spend $2 million of the district's $6 million reserve fund.
''I'm ready to make some cuts,'' said School Director Julian Stolz, after Monday's school board meeting.
Stolz, who began serving in January, said he will vote against any budget that includes a tax increase. Read more
