This ridiculous stalemate will definitely affect my vote in 2010, and I think that's true of most New Yorkers. They're all a sorry lot, and the only people who can change it is the VOTERS!.

It's not just Skelos. What about Monserrate? He's up on charges for beating his girlfriend with a wine class. Why should he be representing anybody? He should be in jail!

if we did not go to work to work, we would not get paid. The same should be for these jerks that only want more in taxes for their own damn salaries. they need to get the four and one-half weeks of pay taken from them after the taxes they are responsible to pay so there cant be any more of this childish coup that was only to get the speaker out of office. next time have a simple vote instead without all the drama and hysteria.

Gerrymandering glore for the NY Dems in 2010. Wasn't that what all the fighting was about? Now that the NYDems have control of both the Assembly and the Senate it should make it a lot easier to redraw election lines for the 2010 elections. Gerrymandering is a powerful tool of politics. The NYDems now could redraw district lines and put more Dems in swing districts to put a Dem is office. One district that could be affected by all of this is Peter King's Congressional district, a redrawing here and there, and presto more Dems in his district.

I said in the beginning that they should, at the very least, lose two days pay for every day they were out. But now I think they should all be impeached or voted out. They are a bunch of scumbags who don't give a tihs about the people. They are all for making as much money as possible in any way they can for themselves and damn the public.

Exactly! If I decided to just stop doing my job because I disagreed with something I would lose my job on the spot, but these guys get to wait until Election time? WTF!?!?!

You don't need gerrymandering, just changing demographics. It's already happening in Peter King's district which is why he is seeking another elective office.

The problem in voting them out is that everyone want the other guys elected official voted out, not his own.

Exactly...let them know that there is no such thing as tenure in politics. If they want tenure, they should have become teachers.

People need to speak out to the represenatives more to let them know how disappointed we are in their lack of productivity. We would be fired from our jobs if we did as little as they do in goverment

And come election time these idiots will still be there. People in NY have short memories. I was watching the news when Pedro switched sides AGAIN. They interviewed people in his district and most said they think he is doing a great job. I was so annoyed I turned the TV off.

That it was not 10 out of 10 is either sad or an indication of the % of gov't hacks in any poll.

I will remember this when voting time comes, and WILL NOT vote for any incumbent up for re-election. These SOB's owe us big time, and they have some nerve to take vacation after they wasted time on petty politics. Every one of them should be docked the month's pay, and the money should be put into the general fund. I know I'd be fired, no questions asked, if I pulled a stunt like that. What makes them better?
