As it should be. It's about time these families have some consequences to raising there kids the way a lot of them do. To do whatever they want and get away with it! Just think of what the kids of that poor deceased woman will have to go through.

I think there is a lot of blame to be passed around. First of all it is Drew's fault. He made the decision to drink with his friends and get in a car. However his thoughts were greatly impaired. Where were his friends? They say he "couldn't walk" and "didn't know where he was"...why would his "friends" let him leave in that condition. I think it's also the school's responsibility, to a point. I live in this community and from my understanding this is not the first time this group of kids has had a drinking party. These kids are athletes and the school should have some kind of punishment for them, beyond the 2 week suspension the MSHSL puts on them. When I was a kid if you were caught partying you were done with sports and that fear kept a lot of kids from getting in trouble.

I feel for Drew. I feel for his friends. And especially feel for his family as well as the family of the others involved in this accident. But my understanding is that his friends are still walking around thinking they're invinsible. NOW is the time for the parents to step in and do something about the choices these kids are making. No, you can't always be responsible for every decision your kids make but as parents it is your job to advise them and guide them towards making good decisions.

i agree on both sides,,which is what is scary,,,i dont know about anywhere else, but in indiana, when our children get their license,,we sign away our life until they are 18,,,we are responsible for anything that happens in the car they are driving. so for the most part i hope for the best and am forced to trust my children when they go out in my car,,,,no i would never knowingly allow them to go to a party where drinking is involved, no, i would never allow them to drink and drive, no i would never allow them to allow another driver behind the wheel,,,not even sober.......and that is what is scary, i am forced to trust a teenager,,who i did my best raising,,,,and did my best to instill my values in,,but ultimately,,they are still stupid teenagers......

Not only did this poor woman die from this terrible crash, but my friend Ger is in critical condition at the hospital still. It's been three weeks or more now and he still does not know what has happened. He's in too much pain to be off sedation. I feel terrible for the victims of this crash. And as for the irresponsible teens involved, it's a shame...you should not be drinking at that age...and worst of all, driving?! Where were the parents? And who's house was this party at? And were the parents at the house party aware that underage kids were drinking there - drinking and driving? I think everyone should be in trouble. Two lives because of Drew and those involved's irresponsibility. What a shame!

I feel bad for all involved. Many lives have been changed forever and one completely lost. The children and husband of the woman killed. The driver in critical condition. For Drew, any dreams he had of the future have just been derailed because of one night of drinking. Drews parents, Hollands parents, the siblings of all the kids involved. As to who's responsible? What parent allows a teen to be out all night...until 5:20 in the morning? What about the parents of the other teens???? Who bought the booze for the kids? It's not just Drew who that had bad judgement, but it is Drew and the family of his victims that will pay the highest price. Very sad.

It is my understanding that Drew was brought home by a NON drinking student. HE then snuck out of the house, took his sister's car and went back to the party, consequently drove home after. Yes, why didn't the kids at the party stop him? I suppose they were too inebriated themselves to consider the consequences.
DON'T blame the parents, they thought their kid was home in bed! How many of you ever snuck out when you were a teenager! Drew's parents are very good citizens of the community and are very involved in church. Do you not think they are ashamed to show their face in public and have to pay a price because of a bad choice by their child?

What is the problem? Yes - the law will take care of Drew and his friends in this situation.

The problem is this is the first time something like this has happened and it won't be the last. Teenage drinking is not okay. It's not a rite of passage. It's not something "every" kid does. And people need to put their feet down and make stricter laws and punishments on the kids that do this, the people who provide the alcohol, the people who host the party.

What's the problem? A woman is dead. Her three children no longer have their mother to tuck them in at night or watch them grow up. Her husband now has to raise their kids on his own. A man is still in the hospital with severe injuries. A teenager with a bright future has ruined his life and now has NO future (except jail, most likely). His friends have to live with the fact that they let him get in the car and try to get himself home even though he couldn't walk. The parents hosting the party have to live with the fact that they let a group of kids drink in their basement and one killed a woman on his way home. The people who provided alcohol for the party have to live with the fact that they contributed to the death of a woman. Drew's parents have to suffer for a poor decision their son made and watch his life go down the drain.

I don't know...what's the problem? People with your mentality are the problem!!

LMFAO! Yes, the law will take care of his kid, no one never said the law wouldn't.

All I gotta say is that if you are under age 18 years old, your parents are responsible for you. That includes if you go out and "murder" another person and severely injure another. That is the reason why people are discussing his parents. It's natural to wonder where the parents are when a child...yes child, goes on a killing spree with his car, driving over 100 MPH. Cars are machines and when used under the influence of alcohol become lethal killing machines. Drew should consider himself quite lucky. It was rather early in the day and there weren't as many cars or people out yet. He could have murdered more innocent people that day.
