ALBA, Mo. - The mayor of Alba thinks the town should be able to recoup some portion of almost $80,000 that a former city clerk is accused of embezzling.

ALBA, Mo. - Alba's fired city clerk is accused of embezzling almost $80,000 in town funds.

National Weather Service forecasters have issued a tornado warning for sections of Jasper, Barton and Dade counties in effect until 8 a.m. Radar indicated a tornado near Alba, or seven miels northwest of Carthage that is moving east at 35 miles an hour.

For at least 40 years, residents of the Neck City area who needed groceries had to plan a trip to Joplin or Webb City.

There might have been times in recent years when ground-level ozone during the summer was unacceptably high in the Joplin area, but local residents had no way of knowing it.
