Alamosa Students return to class after salmonella outbreak
Students in Alamosa returned to class Monday after a multiday flush of the city's water system to purge salmonella bacteria.
Schools in the town closed last week when health officials found the city's water system was the source of the outbreak.
Since then, residents have been warned not to use water straight from the tap for brushing teeth, washing dishes, drinking and cooking. State health officials still have the town on alert, advising the water is safe for flushing and very brief showers only. Read more
