That's all we need, more pickup trucks adding to the already congested Park Street traffic.
Plus, with Home Depot within 5 minutes' drive, not to Mention Encinal Hardware and Pagano's, an Orchard Supply will be an unnecessary evil on Alameda.

Planning Board Hearing On Orchard Supply Hardware
In a notice dated June 24th, 2008, the City of Alameda Planning Board announced a public hearing on July 14, 2008, at 7:00pm at Alameda City Hall to consider the proposal to bring Orchard Supply Hardware to Alameda Towne Center. Action Alameda first announced the plans for OSH at ATC on June 18th.

Alameda's share of sales tax is 1%- even if we were able to capture all of the estimated $41 million in leakage per year, that translates only to about $410,000 per year. Not nearly enough to make up for auto-row. Rather than bringing in more retail, Alameda's leaders need to figure out how to bring in jobs and businesses that generate business-to-business revenue.
