Weekend events| Indian Art Market & Cultural Festival
The Kansas City Indian Art Market & Cultural Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Line Creek Community Center, 5940 N.W. Waukomis Road. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
The festival will showcase dances, singing and drumming from several tribes, and Indian crafts and foods. A children's activities area will include buffalo 'robes' inside a tepee.
'We didn't have any children's activities last year, and yet it seemed there were a lot of children there, and they were having a good time; we wanted to make it better for them,' co-chair Alice Johnson said. Read more
