Mother, two girls shot during robbery in Hammond
Hammond Lt. Rich Hoyda said that around 11:20 a.m. in the 900 block of Morris Street, two men tried to rob a woman, who is 41 and from Addison, Illinois, while she was in a car with her two daughters, ages 15 and 12. The mother tried to flee in the car, and one of the would-be robbers fired off multiple shots, striking everyone in the car.
