Guns caused the Fort Hood mass-murder, says Chicago's Mayor

....ok...then lets all be safer have his bodyguards turn in their guns, and the thug police cannot carry if not on duty!

A gun is an object. An object cannot function by its self. Therefore the cause of the deaths and wounded at Ft Hood was a person. If it would have been anything else. Would the Mayor have even said anything? It was aircraft that caused the deaths on 9/11. Has the mayor stopped flying? Has he voiced that aircraft should be banned because they kill people?

The problem with Daley is that even if nobody votes for him he would still win the elections; he'd make sure.

It seems to me at this point that the incident which occurred at Fort Hood was a terrorist act. One of those suicide missions; only time will tell. The mayor's comments are totally out of context and nonsense. I work in some of Chicago's most dangerous neighborhoods and shootings occur ALL THE TIME and don't even make the paper. How are Chicago's gun laws helping? They aren't. Law abiding citizens are sitting in their homes and are scarred about becoming a victim. They are not allowed to have guns. Many don't care and choose to be armed anyway; God bless them.

Thanks. I could be wrong(and I know somebody will correct me) but in the State of Arizona, people can carry guns openly legally. There were several people that showed up at some(O'Bama Rally) several months ago one with an M16, and several others with 9MM in holsters on their belts. People around here(Farmers/Ranchers) had them on their gun racks on the back glass of their Pick-ups. But thieves started stealing them, and the Law started stopping them and requesting(only, no tickets) the driver to remove them from openly displaying them.

I agree on the 'Act of Terrorism'. And remember that the President also passed a Federal Law a few weeks ago on 'Hate-Crimes'. So I believe the Military should 'add' charges against Hasan(presently 13 counts of premetitated murder, plus, 30 counts of Premitated attempted murder, plus Terriorism, plus 43 counts of a 'Hate Crime'). And I'm terribly sorry for all of the young deaths(especially the young people and children) in Chicago.

I appreciate your comment, but being as old as I am, and going through life and have seen/experienced what I have, I don't consider it wasting my time to give 'any' young person any where some of my wisdom/knowledge thoughts for them to consider/think about. If law abiding citizens were allowed to carry openly or concealed. How may drugs houses would be in their neighborhood? How many gang members would assault those law abiding citizens? How many criminals would roam the street?
If 10,000 of the people in Chicago openly carried firearms what would the mayor do?
The mayor and all politicans hide behind metal detectors, bodyguards, and pass laws to protect themselves. While leaving the common citizen to the wolves. After all didn't the Supreme Court of the United States of America. State something like that police officers are not responsible for the citizens.
As the next election approachs. I would encourge you to vote out those who are currently in office. That is the true "CHANGE" we need in America!

But remember that Bush was acting on the 'best' information he had at the time, which turned out to be wrong. But Sadam Hussien definately needed to be caught/tried/convicted/killed.
