Remembered: Bill Heeman put his customers first, a legacy for his family-run business

Until his last day, Bill Heeman lived by a code of hard work and determination to make his business grow. Earlier this week, he was walking the strawberry fields, watering flower boxes, supervising the planting of purple fountain grass for fall sales and checking the berry counter at Heeman's Garden Centre and Berry Farm just south of Thorndale - the massive flower, garden and strawberry business he started from the ground up.
